The ancient Hungarians came from Asia, arrived on horseback and found this beautiful land a perfect location to establish their Christian kingdom and start a new European life already in 1000AD. All through their long and turbulent history Hungarians managed to keep the essence of their identity, language, traditions and cousin although it was influenced by all the visitors of the time Turks, Slaves, Austrians, Germans and many more. At the crossroads of Europe, Hungary has finally found its proper match on the continent, becoming a full fledged member of the European Union in 2004.
